School-Based Occupational Therapy Contracting and Consulting in Fresno County

Playwell Collective serves school districts in Fresno County with school-based occupational therapy staffing, support for subbing, services through remediation agreements, consulting, and Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs). School-based occupational therapy services are grounded in participation and access in the educational environment through a trauma informed/mental health lens. Regulation and relationship are the foundation for participation in all developmental skills needed for school participation. When a student feels safe and regulated we know that their capacity for skill building in traditional areas of focus for school-based occupational therapy are greatly improved- zipping a jacket, cutting shapes for an art project, typing an essay, using utensils, (and so much more) don’t feel as hard when the therapist spends the time to help the student get regulated and ready, and collaborates with the team for carryover.
Our Occupatioal Therapy Practitioners:
- Have a local leadership team who have extensive experience working in the school system
- Recieve active mentorship encouraging ongoing evidenced-based practice
- Are provided with top-notch continuing education with emphasis on areas that make our OTPs extremely valuable to the IEP team. We are neurodevelopmental experts in approaches to school-based therapy- vision, sensory integration, adapting the environment, assistive technology, praxis/motor planning, and so much more! We are a team that LOVES learning
- Are held to high accountability for legally defensible assessments and documentation
